El Caminito del
Rey, or the Royal Trail (Spanish version El Caminito del Rey), Is located in
the Spanish province of Malaga. For many years it was considered the most
dangerous hiking trail in the world: a suspension road, three kilometers long,
winds along the El Chorro gorge at an altitude of 100 meters. Its width is only
one meter.
After the death of five people in 2001, the trail was closed. The
authorities decided to seriously engage in reconstruction. Work to build
another, safer trail began in 2014. Now it is open to visitors and is no longer
so dangerous.
Interesting that the Caminito del Rey was created as an auxiliary route
for workers who built a dam. The path was named `Royal` after it was visited in
1921 by King of Spain Alfonso XIII.
The company Inmolux is happy to help you see
this and other interesting places of the Costa del Sol, Spain.
